MANILA, Philippines — The government is establishing a framework to empower agricultural cooperatives and enhance support for farmers and fisherfolk nationwide.
The Department of Agriculture (DA), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) signed a joint memorandum circular (JMC) to harmonize policies and interventions for agricultural cooperatives.
The JMC aims to create a more efficient and inclusive system by reducing overlaps in government interventions, enabling cooperatives to grow, innovate, and compete in domestic and international markets.
