The US announcements are "not always easy to navigate," Sweden's minister said
NATO foreign ministers on Friday welcomed the US announcement that it would station 5,000 troops in Poland, following days of confusion over its decision to cancel a planned deployment to the eastern European country.
“All’s well that ends well,” Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said on Friday morning, after US President Donald Trump announced the US will send an “additional” 5,000 troops to Poland.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also welcomed the announcement, adding that the alliance’s “military commanders are working through all the details”.
Trump posted the announcement on social media on Thursday, citing his positive relationship with Poland’s populist president, Karol Nawrocki.
