Turkey’s main opposition party leader said on Thursday his party applied to the ⁠Supreme Court of ⁠Appeals to object ​to a ruling ⁠that annulled his party’s 2023 ⁠congress ‌and ⁠removed him from the party ​leadership.

Ozgur Ozel called ‌the court ruling “a coup against people” and said he expected ​the higher court ‌to overturn the ​ruling and “save Turkey from a ⁠disaster,” adding ‌his ​party will resist the ruling. [Reuters]
