Olivia Rodrigo has released her new single, "The Cure," from her upcoming third album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.”The Filipino-American pop star dropped the song on Friday along with its accompanying hospital-themed music video, which was released on YouTube. The emotionally charged four-minute-and-57-second track explores insecurity, self-doubt, and the painful realization that love alone cannot heal deep personal wounds. It includes the lines: “I got toxins in my bloodstream, you tried hard to suck 'em out/ And it feels like medication, and it's good for me, I'm sure/ But it don't matter how your love feels anymore/ It'll never be the cure.”In an interview on the “Elvis Duran Show” on iHeartRadio, Olivia said "The Cure" is among her favorite songs she has released so far.“I'm really, really proud of this song. I absolutely love it,” she said. “I think it's like a new perspective that I haven't really, you know, had like the maturity maybe to express before in earlier albums and I'm really obsessed with it.”"The Cure" is available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.Olivia made her much-awaited music comeback last month with the album’s first single, "Drop Dead," which made history by marking all three of her album lead singles debuting at No. 1.She filmed its music video at the Palace of Versailles in France, one of the world’s most restricted and historically significant landmarks.“You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love” will come out on June 12. —Carby Rose Basina/JCB, GMA News
