France is using its dialogue with China to urge Beijing to influence Russia and help bring about an end to the war against Ukraine.
The statement was made during a briefing by Pascal Confavreux, spokesperson for France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“What we observe are extremely biased, unbalanced relations between Russia and China, all the more so after Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, which cut Russia off from many of its partners, particularly in the energy and economic sectors,” Confavreux said while commenting on Vladimir Putin’s visit to China.
According to him, France maintains ongoing dialogue with China in order to convey messages regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine.
“This channel allows us to ask China to use its privileged relationship with Moscow to call for an end to this aggression,” the Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed.
