Days after announcing that he was shutting down his Rs 100 crore courses business, finfluencer and entrepreneur Ankur Warikoo shared another side of his life that quickly caught attention online — his daily morning routine. The creator, who said his education platform made Rs 100 crore in sales and Rs 25 crore in profit since 2020, revealed that he still follows the same disciplined schedule every single day, including weekends. From meditation and reading to tennis and weight training, Warikoo described a routine that begins before sunrise and ends with him sitting down for work at 9:30 am.The shutdown that surprised his followersWarikoo first announced the closure of his courses business in a post on X on May 15. The move surprised many because the business was profitable and had enrolled lakhs of students over the years."I am shutting down my Rs 100 crores courses business. We've grown beyond what I could have imagined since we started in 2020," wrote Warikoo in an X (formerly Twitter) post, adding, "5 lakh students. Rs 100 crores in sales. Rs 25 crores in profits. But it makes no sense to continue it."The creator built a strong following across social media platforms, with millions of followers on YouTube and Instagram and over seven lakh followers on X.A day that starts before sunriseSoon after the business announcement, Warikoo shared the routine he has been following for years. Unlike many people who use weekends to sleep in or spend hours on their phones, he said his mornings remain unchanged."I wake up between 4:30 and 5 a.m. every day (including weekends). First thing I do is sip a glass of water for 10-15 minutes. This allows me to wake up slowly. To savour the first touch of water. To set the day's rhythm (which is to avoid feeling rushed)," he wrote. He said he avoids looking at screens immediately after waking up and instead focuses on slowing down mentally before beginning the day.Meditation before messagesWarikoo said meditation is the next part of his schedule and has remained non-negotiable for years. "So, before I listen to or attend to anyone, I attend to myself. Haven't missed a day for 6 years now!" he shared.According to his post, he meditates for 30 minutes and spends the time observing his thoughts rather than trying to control them. After meditation comes another 30 minutes of reading."This is to feed my mind the right diet. So, before garbage enters my mind (through mindless scrolling, emails, or messages), I nourish it," he said.Tennis, gym and school dutyThe entrepreneur also uses part of his morning to get his children ready for school, calling fatherhood the most important role in his life.He then moves to physical activity, beginning with tennis and later weight training at the gym."Then I play tennis for an hour. This is to wake up my body. Get it moving. Taste the sweat," he revealed, adding, "Then I lift weights at the gym for an hour. This is to strengthen the body, build muscles, so that it can age well and hopefully provide me good company as I age."No breaking news before 9:30 amOne part of the routine that stood out for many online was his approach to consuming news. Warikoo said he reads newspapers for 15 minutes after returning home, which becomes his first interaction with the outside world since waking up."But I am reading the news that I chose to read. To the extent I chose to read. I won't be dragged into a mindless debate, and I'm not being offered any breaking news," he added. After showering, he begins work at 9:30 am.“Build yours today”Warikoo said he has been following this routine consistently for the past four to five years and believes it has helped him stay mentally and physically prepared."It has cleansed and nourished my mind, soul, and body. Ready to face what the world offers," he wrote. At the same time, he clarified that his schedule may not suit everyone. The influencer further clarified that this routine has worked for him, and it might not work for everyone reading his post. However, he added that everyone should have a routine that works for them. "Build yours today," he concluded the post.
