Discovery Life adviser debarred for sharing confidential client data on resignation day.
The Financial Services Tribunal has dismissed an application by former Discovery Life Limited financial services representative Anja Foster, who sought to overturn her debarment for unethically sharing client data.
The tribunal ruled that she failed to provide sufficient reasons for filing her reconsideration application months late and had little prospect of success on the merits.
The tribunal found that Foster’s explanation for the delay was inadequate and that Discovery Life Limited had acted within the requirements of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act and the Financial Sector Regulation Act.
Foster, who had worked as a financial services representative for Discovery Life for 13 years, was debarred in August 2025 after an internal forensic investigation found that she had shared clients’ private and confidential information through her personal WeTransfer account and disclosed information to a third party.
