The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a suspected foreign national and recovered 18 stolen rams valued at about N7m during an intelligence-led operation in the Bauchi metropolis.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, saying the operation led to the interception of two vehicles conveying the stolen animals.

Habib said, “On May 19, 2026, the Police Monitoring Team attached to the Area Command, Bauchi Metropolis, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted a white Hummer bus with registration number DELTA WW-882 ZR and a dark ash Toyota Camry with registration number BAUCHI NNG-293-AA along Gubi Road, Bauchi.”

According to him, the vehicles were loaded with 18 rams believed to have been stolen from a location opposite A.A. Kunya Filling Station along Murtala Mohammed Way in Bauchi.

The police spokesperson identified the arrested suspect as Sayyadi Abubakar, 58, from Tahoua Town in Maradi Region, Niger Republic.
