MANILA, Philippines — A group of artists and poets who participated in “Kislap Diwa”– an annual event organized in partnership with the Office of Sen. Loren Legarda – has “dissociated” itself from the lawmaker.

This move comes after she voted to elect Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano as Senate president.

“For years, the Senator has presented herself as a defender of culture and the creative life. Many of us believed her. Our gathering was made possible by that belief,” a statement from the group posted by San Anselmo Publications on Wednesday read.
