LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Pangasinan recorded its highest heat index this year at a “danger” level of 47 degrees Celsius at 4 p.m. on Thursday, according to the provincial government.

The Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), citing data from the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Dagupan station, said the latest reading surpassed the 46 °C recorded on April 27. Pagasa also logged a heat index of 45 °C in the province on May 20 and 25.
