The Durban Chamber Choir plan two dynamic concerts in Durban and Pietermaritzburg

KZN music lovers are in for a feast of classical music around the province over the next two weeks.

The Durban Chamber Choir celebrates the joy of choral singing in two vibrant concerts. The first is in Pietermaritzburg at the Hayfields Lutheran Church of the Cross tomorrow at 3pm.

The choir presents an uplifting and eclectic programme which includes the elegant Messe Brève by Charles Gounod; Baba Yetu (Our Father) by celebrated Xhosa hymn writer John Knox Bokwe and the iconic Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen.

The choir has been in existence for over 20 years with a wide-ranging repertoire from early plainchant to contemporary choral. It is made up of voluntary members of all ages and from all walks of life and is conducted by Margriet Deppe, co-principal oboe and cor anglais at the KZN Philharmonic and an acclaimed organist.
