Four women have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of 75-year-old Nokhansala Sidiki, who was accused of witchcraft and drowned in a stream in the Eastern Cape.

Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the horrific murder of 75-year-old woman, who was accused of witchcraft, was beaten, and drowned in a stream near Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape. This brings the total number of arrests to four, all of whom are women.

Nokhansala Sidiki was brutally killed on Sunday morning, May 17, after she was allegedly dragged from her home in Zadungeni, Luthuthu Locality, by family members. She was taken to a nearby stream, assaulted with a wooden plank, and drowned. Her naked body was later discovered with severe head and face injuries, as well as strangulation marks.

Police confirmed that two more suspects, aged 28 and 35, were arrested on Wednesday, May 20. They are expected to make their first appearance in the Ngcobo Magistrate's Court on Friday, May 22.

Meanwhile, the first two suspects arrested on Monday—aged 26 and 28—made their first appearance in the same court on Wednesday. They have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear again on Monday, May 25.
