The Cocoa and Coffee Farmers Alliance Association of Africa and CRIN during the MoU signing ceremony
The Cocoa and Coffee Farmers Alliance Association of Africa has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria aimed at reviving Nigeria’s coffee industry and strengthening the cocoa and coffee value chains across the country.
The agreement, signed under the Nigeria Coffee Revival Initiative, seeks to improve coffee production and productivity through farmer empowerment, research-driven agricultural practices, climate-smart farming, improved planting materials, and post-harvest quality enhancement.
The partnership will also focus on establishing commercial processing units, demonstration plots, irrigation pilot projects, and the deployment of traceability and seed-tracker technology to improve transparency and sustainability within the sector.
Speaking on the development in a statement on Wednesday, the Global President of COCEFAAA, Adeola Adegoke, described the partnership as a major milestone for Nigeria’s agricultural sector and Africa’s coffee industry.
