Supporters of Lagos lawmaker and actor-turned politician, Desmond Elliott, have raised an alarm over alleged intimidation and suppression of voters during the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State House of Assembly primaries in Surulere Constituency.

A source from Elliott’s camp told SaharaReporters on Tuesday that loyalists of the lawmaker were allegedly being prevented from participating in the exercise in Ward G2 and other voting centres across the constituency.

According to the source, the situation has sparked anxiety among party members who expected a transparent and credible primary election process.

“Reports reaching us from Ward G2 during the ongoing primaries suggest that supporters of Hon. Desmond Olushola Elliott are allegedly being prevented from voting,” the source said.
