The State Higher Education Department has constituted three expert committees to submit recommendations on three major issues: convocation protocol and common dress code, honorary doctorates, and the syllabus.The committee, headed by former Vice-Chancellor Ambalike Hiriyanna, has been asked to study and submit recommendations on convocation protocol and common dress code’ during convocations.This issue was discussed during the recent Vice-Chancellors conclave chaired by the Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, where the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K.Shivakumar were present.There were suggestions to do away with the western robe.
