Pudukottai, Thanjavur, and Tiruchi districts recorded a significant improvement in SSLC examination results this year, ranking among the top five in the State with pass percentages over 97.Among the central districts, Perambalur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Karur and Mayiladuthurai also registered pass percentages above 90, while Ariyalur recorded 87.55%.Pudukottai district emerged as the topper in the State with a pass percentage of 97.57. Of the 22,337 students who appeared for the examination, 21,794 (10,826 boys and 10,968 girls) cleared them.The district had secured the 25th position with a pass percentage of 93.5 in 2024-25, and stood 23rd with 91.84% in 2023-24, indicating a sharp improvement this year.Government schools in Pudukottai recorded a pass percentage of 97.09 and secured the second position in the State. Of the 335 schools in the district, 174 schools, including 94 government schools, achieved 100% pass results. In comparison, only 43 government schools had secured cent per cent results in the previous year.TiruchiTiruchi district secured the third position in the State by recording 97.31% pass in the examination this year. As many as 32,594 students (16,265 boys and 16,329 girls) out of the 33,494 who had appeared cleared the SSLC examination, putting the pass percentage at 97.31.The district has continued to show improvement over the years. Tiruchi recorded a pass percentage of 96.61 and secured the fifth position last year, while the district registered 95.23% in 2023-24 and 94.28% in 2022-23.Government schools in the district recorded 96.47 % pass percentage, placing Tiruchi in the fifth position. Also, 247 schools comprising 99 government schools, 20 welfare schools, 15 aided schools, 26 partially aided schools, three Anglo-Indian schools, five self-financing schools and 79 metriculation schools achieved 100% pass results.PerambalurAs many as 7,428 out of 7,810 students came out successful in the exams, recording a pass percentage of 95.11 in Perambalur district, which finished in the 18th position. Of the 143 schools in the district, 71 schools comprising 28 government schools, four aided schools, six welfare schools and 33 self-financing schools achieved 100% pass results. In the previous year, the district registered a pass percentage of 96.46%, securing the seventh position.NagapattinamThe district registered a pass percentage of 93.36, with 7,774 out of the 8,327 students who had appeared for the SSLC exams having cleared them. Of the 138 schools, 53 schools, including 35 government schools, recorded a 100% pass result.KarurAs many as 10,237 out of 11,102 students cleared the exam with a pass percentage of 92.21. As many as 64 schools, including 23 government schools, have registered 100% pass results.MayiladuthuraiAs many as 10,850 students out of the 11,985 who had appeared for the exams cleared them with a pass percentage of 90.53 in the exams. About 47 schools, including nine government schools, recorded a cent per cent result.AriyalurAriyalur district registered a pass percentage of 87.55 with 8,691 out of the 9,927 students who had appeared for the exams having cleared them. Of the 171 schools, 42, including 17 government schools, recorded 100% pass results.
