Bob Iger is beginning a fresh phase after recently handing the Disney keys over to new CEO Josh D’Amaro, and this era includes some new awards.
The Perelman Performing Arts Center (known as PAC NYC), which was the final piece in the rebuilding of the World Trade Center after 9/11, is presenting Iger with the PAC NYC Icon of Culture Award at its fall gala, set for Oct. 27. The evening, which will be presented by BNY, will honor Iger for his influence on culture and impact in the world while also celebrating the artistic excellence of the Perelman Performing Arts Center.
Michael R. Bloomberg — who serves as chair of PAC NYC — and Diane von Furstenberg — who received the Icon of Culture honor in 2025 — made the announcement at an event at Diane von Furstenberg Studios in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District on Tuesday night; Robin Roberts and PAC NYC artistic director Bill Rauch, who is also co-director of the Tony-nominated Cats: The Jellicle Ball, were also among those in attendance.
