In response to Donald Trump’s recent threats regarding the possible resumption of military strikes against Iran, Abbas Araghchi warned that any return to war would come “with far more surprises.”

In a post on the social media platform X, Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, claimed that during the recent war, the Islamic Republic succeeded in shooting down advanced F-35 fighter jets, making Iran’s armed forces the first military in the world to successfully target the aircraft. The claim, however, has not been verified by any independent sources.

The Islamic Republic’s Foreign Minister also pointed to the damage allegedly inflicted on U.S. military hardware, stating that Tehran has learned “new lessons” from the recent war and would respond differently if conflict erupts again.

Araghchi’s remarks came after Trump claimed yesterday that the United States had been on the verge of launching a massive assault on Iran, but that he halted the operation at the request of regional leaders.
