MAKKAH: The concepts of human-centered services and integrated care are reflected at the holy sites through the drinking-water development project, which has introduced a tangible improvement to the pilgrim experience.

The project provides more than 2,400 modern water points along pedestrian walkways according to an innovative engineering design. The system ensures the continuous availability of chilled and purified drinking water for pilgrims.

The project has been implemented by Kidana Development Co., the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites. It has transformed traditional water-distribution points into integrated hydration stations.

This was achieved through the application of the highest standards of quality and health. It includes a strategic distribution plan designed to support smooth pedestrian movement and prevent overcrowding in densely populated areas.

The impact of the system extends beyond water provision. It also plays a key role in reducing heat stress and improving movement between the holy sites. These efforts contribute to a safer, comfortable, and tranquil environment for pilgrims.
