The Elegant Nurses Forum has condemned the abduction of 39 students and seven teachers in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the worsening insecurity under the President Bola Tinubu-led administration as alarming.
The group in a statement signed by Nurse Thomas Abiodun Olamide, National Coordinator, Elegant Nurses Forum also decried the reported killing of one of the abducted teachers, Mr Michael Oyedokun, who was reportedly beheaded by the abductors days after the incident.
The forum said many of the abducted victims were still in captivity, leaving their families and communities in fear and emotional pain.
The organisation said the increasing cases of kidnapping, terrorism and violent attacks showed that insecurity had reached an alarming stage in the country.
