Channel 4 is facing pressure to axe Married At First Sight as insiders questioned the show’s duty-of-care protocols following rape claims by contestants.
A BBC Panorama investigation revealed allegations made by two women that they had been raped during filming, while a third said she had been the victim of a non-consensual sex act.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport said there must be consequences for “criminality or wrongdoing”, heaping pressure on Channel 4, which has pulled all episodes from its streaming and TV broadcast platforms.
