A Special Sub-Inspector (SSI) attached to Nallur police station in Tiruppur district was placed under suspension for allegedly collecting a bribe of ₹200 from the driver of a load van transporting goats, while undertaking vehicle inspection at Mudhalipalayam.The SSI, Mohan (52) ,was served the suspension order by Deputy Commissioner of Tiruppur South Deepa Sathyan after a purported video of the act of receiving bribe went viral on social media platforms, the police sources said.
