Cambridge University Press and Assessment, and Alsama Project, have signed an agreement to develop and expand a new qualification aimed at helping refugees and displaced youths gain access to universities, vocational training and employment in Nigeria and across the world.

The agreement, signed during the Education World Forum, in the presence of representatives of UNESCO and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, will support the rollout of the G12++ qualification, an alternative secondary school-leaver credential designed for young people whose education has been disrupted by conflict and displacement.

Nigeria hosts about 3.6 million forcibly displaced persons, while globally, there are about 117.3 million displaced people, including 49 million children.
