Greece-based Phoenix Register of Shipping (PHRS) opened last week another office in China, at the Putuo district, Zhoushan, East China’s Zhejiang province, marking the company’s further expansion into China’s maritime service market.
The establishment of PHRS’s office in Zhoushan was driven not only by the port’s advantages but also by Putuo’s strong maritime service ecosystem, including China’s largest ship repair base and a leading bonded bunker fuel business.
The new office will directly serve shipowners and shipbuilding enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region. PHRS has also reached preliminary cooperation intentions with the China-Europe (Greece) Maritime Service Center, which is being developed at Xiazhimen channel in Putuo.
PHRS has nearly 1,000 registered vessels worldwide, totaling about 13 million metric tons, with China expected to become the company’s most important growth market over the next five years.
