The Defence Headquarters says joint counterterrorism operations conducted in collaboration with the United States Africa Command have resulted in the killing of 175 ISIS terrorists in North-East Nigeria.
The Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, providing an update on the US–Nigeria joint operation.
The military said the coordinated strikes marked significant progress in ongoing operations against terrorist elements in the region.
“It will be recalled that the joint strikes started a few days ago. As of 19 May 2026, assessments indicate that 175 ISIS terrorists have been eliminated from the battlefield.
