The military disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, who said the coordinated strikes had dealt a “devastating blow” to ISIS operations in the region.
The Defence Headquarters has announced that at least 175 ISIS militants have been killed in ongoing joint counterterrorism operations being carried out by Nigerian forces in collaboration with the United States Africa Command in North-East Nigeria.

According to the Defence Headquarters, assessments conducted as of May 19, 2026, confirmed that 175 militants were eliminated during the operations, which commenced a few days ago.
The military said the joint offensive also led to the destruction of ISIS checkpoints, weapons storage facilities, logistics hubs, military equipment and financial networks used by the terrorists to sustain their operations across the region.
