The grandparents of missing two-year-old Omphile Sethole, who was kidnapped from her home on Saturday, May 2, have been arrested in connection with her disappearance.
The grandparents of missing two-year-old Omphile Sethole have been remanded in custody after appearing before the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on charges linked to alleged child negligence.
Police said Nkgalakana Vinolia Mabusela, 52, and Lesiba Jacob Ledwaba, 55, were arrested by members of the Mokopane Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit following investigations into the disappearance of the toddler.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that the pair appeared in court on Monday and were remanded in custody until May 25, 2026, for a formal bail application.
Omphile vanished from her home in Ga-Mabuela village, under the Tinmyne policing area, during the early hours of May 2, 2026.
