"Enough with fragmentation," a top NATO commander said
NATO’s top command on Tuesday called for a “dramatic increase” in European military production, as allies prepare to review their billions in spending commitments at the NATO Ankara Summit.
“NATO 3.0 doesn’t exist without a defence industry 3.0,” Admiral Pierre Vandier, NATO’s supreme allied commander transformation (SATC), said after the meeting of the alliance’s 32 chiefs of defence on Tuesday.
US Undersecretary of State Elbridge Colby coined the “NATO 3.O” term at the start of the year, in which European allies would assume “primary responsibility” for Europe’s conventional defence.
