Shettima made the revelation during the public presentation of “My Life of Duty and Allegiance,” the autobiography of former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon.
Vice-President Kashim Shettima has revealed how unnamed individuals allegedly attempted to create a rift between him and President Bola Tinubu shortly after they assumed office in 2023, claiming he was plotting to assassinate the president and seize power.
Shettima made the revelation during the public presentation of “My Life of Duty and Allegiance,” the autobiography of former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon.
According to the vice-president, the individuals behind the allegation were from his home state of Borno, although he declined to mention their identities.
“Three months into our swearing in, some people told Tinubu I was planning to kill him to take over power,” Shettima said during the event, according to the Daily Trust.
