Police and the Fire Department rushed to the scene and the driver was freed from the wreck.Emergency crews drove him to the regional medical office of Acharavi and from there to the Hospital of Corfu, while ambulance personnel tried to keep him alive.The teenager was transported by ambulance to the Hospital of Corfu with assistance from a doctor from the Acharavi office, the Hellas Journal reported.Roda and Acharavi are two small coastal resorts on the northern coast of the Greek island of Corfu, located about 35 km from Corfu Town.The two towns are only 3.5km apart and essentially form a continuous holiday destination stretching along a large, sandy beach.Almyros is the name of the northern end of the sandy stretch of coastline which is home to holiday villas as well as the Almyros Beach Resort and SPA.Local police have launched an investigation into the exact circumstances of the collision.The news comes after British Army Reservist Ethan Jones, 21, was left with serious head injuries when the quad bike he was operating collided with a bollard while he was on holiday in Greece with his girlfriend.Ethan, from Bradford, suffered serious injuries in the crash in Rhodes on Wednesday, April 15 when it is understood the hired quad bike he was operating collided with a bollard.
