Gillian Bayford's second husband was said to have endlessly splashed her lotto winnings - but didn't get his hands on most of her cash thanks to a savvy move she made before they tied the knot16:05, 19 May 2026A Euromillions winner managed to preserve her nine-figure mega jackpot from her fraudster husband with one clever trick that meant she was shielded from his increasingly out-of-control lifestyle.‌Gillian Bayford, 52, split with her husband Adrian 15 months after she bagged a £148 million lotto win in August 2012, a mammoth scoop that she said made the people around her "demanding and greedy". The mum later remarried after the split from her "gold digger" ex, and settled down with her new husband, property developer Brian Deans, with whom she eventually welcomed a child, in 2018.‌But freeloading Deans, a convicted fraudster who was caged in 2012 for pilfering more than £10,000 from a Dundee Tesco, splashed her cash while the two were together. She shielded the vast majority of her winnings from him thanks to a shrewd legal decision.‌READ MORE: £148m lotto jackpot winner is building his own FOREST at his homeREAD MORE: Lotto winner Adrian Bayford funds learning hub after new fiancée 'changes his outlook on life'Her second husband was said to have spent her money on cars, watches and luxury holidays, and received hundreds of thousands from Gillian for financial investments, The Sun reports.
