The Hyderabad SHE Teams secured convictions and fines against two men in separate harassment cases involving abusive phone calls and blackmail using private photographs, officials said on Tuesday.In the first case, the accused, identified as 29-year-old Omer Bin Ahmed Dayini, a driver and resident of Balapur, was arrested for repeatedly calling and abusing a woman from different phone numbers, causing mental distress and inconvenience to the victim. He was sentenced to undergo two days’ simple imprisonment along with a fine of ₹1,050.In another case, 38-year-old Cheetharambil Vaisakh, a private employee residing in Khairatabad, was charged for blackmailing the complainant with private photographs after she ended their relationship upon learning that he was already married. The court imposed a fine of ₹3,350 on him.Police said both accused were produced before the XI Special Judicial Magistrate Court in Nampally.Officials urged women facing online harassment, stalking, blackmail or obscene communication to report incidents through the SHE Teams helpline or official social media platforms, stating that strict legal action would be taken against offenders.
