HRANA, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran, released a report titled “Between Missiles and Suppression,” revealing that since the onset of the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran until last week, at least 4,023 individuals have been detained and 50 people have been executed in Iran.

According to the report, the arrests and executions were primarily carried out under charges such as “espionage,” “acting against national security,” and collaborating with or transmitting war-related information to foreign media outlets.

HRANA noted in its report that Islamic Republic authorities have weaponized the wartime environment to intensify security crackdowns, restrict freedom of expression, and increase pressure on citizens. According to the human rights organization, alongside the expanding wave of arrests, conditions within detention centers have deteriorated significantly. Furthermore, the regime has tightened its security grip by increasing checkpoints, intensifying transit restrictions, and implementing a widespread internet blackout.

A section of the report highlights that the internet shutdowns in Iran have, at certain points, reduced the country’s connectivity levels to a mere 1% of normal operations.
