He has been branded as Majorca's own Josef Fritzl, an Austrian man who raped his own daughter countless times while imprisoning her in the cellar of the family home. The Spaniard has since been sentenced to 34 years in jail over trafficking, sexually abusing a minor, making abuse material and violating her privacy. During the closed trial, it was heard the girl's abuse began in 2015 when the man - known only as JLL - travelled to Nigeria. The victim was just seven years old at the time and lived in extreme poverty with her single parent mother and two sisters when the Spaniard presented himself as a generous benefactor who could offer them a better life. The abuser claimed he could lift the family out of poverty, and he was a "human God" to them."The minor, who had never before met a Caucasian person, was absolutely captivated by the improved quality of life the accused offered her, developing a strong sense of emotional dependence on him," the ruling said, according to Spanish outlet El Pais. JLL later married the girls' mother in a sham marriage in a bid to bring her over to Spain.During visits to the country while visas were being arranged, he groomed the child in order for her to view his attacks as acts of gratitude on her behalf. Court officials heard the man showed her child pornography and told her to send him sexual images of herself starting when she was just eight. When the mother and daughter arrived in Europe in November 2019, the predator immediately separated them. He brought the girl to a rural property in central Majorca and forced her to sign bogus contracts pledging daily sex and domestic work.Using this as a hook, he claimed he would later bring her younger sisters to Spain. The victim was abused over five years until she turned 17 and was attacked even as she cried or was sleeping. His sickening crimes came to light in March 2024 when the victim shared details about her harrowing abuse with her mum. The judges said: "It is difficult to imagine what the victim suffered.Article continues below"Everything described has had devastating and profoundly serious effects on the minor, especially in her psychological and social spheres, which are likely to last for the rest of her life." JLL has denied the allegations against him and said he wanted to take the girl out of her desperate situation. The judges' ruling can still be appealed.Choose Daily Mirror as a 'Preferred Source' on Google News for quick access to the news you value.‌PoliceCrime
