'It is deeply problematic,' said Greenland's health minister
The inclusion of an American doctor in a US delegation to Greenland has sparked anger among local politicians – while exposing a “weak spot” in the island’s society.
Jeff Landry, Donald Trump’s “special” envoy to Greenland, arrived in Nuuk, the capital on Sunday as part of Washington’s continuing attempts to build links with the Arctic territory, which the American president has repeatedly demanded control over.
Among his delegation is Joseph Griffin, a vascular surgeon from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who said he came to Greenland to learn more about the local healthcare system.
