Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested five suspected kidnappers and rescued their victim, Jemila Ibrahim, unhurt.
In a statement released by the command spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, on Tuesday, the victim was rescued unhurt on May 13 during a bush combing operation around Okpege River Road, Iyuku Community in Jattu, Edo North.
She noted that the kidnapping gang had since been arrested and taken into custody, where they would be arraigned after investigations are concluded.
The statement read, “On 13th May, 2026, at about 19.30hrs, security operatives engaged in sustained bush combing operations around Okpege River Road, Iyuku Community in Jattu and successfully rescued one Jemila Ibrahim, who was kidnapped on 10th May, 2026.
