A City of Cape Town traffic officer is being lauded for his quick thinking and going above the call of duty to save a life.
Traffic officer, Anathi Ndyalvan, had no idea that on May 4, he would be saving the life of Councillor Sue Van der Linde.
Van der Linde is the ward councillor of ward 113, representing areas including Table View, Flamingo Vlei, Killarney Gardens, and Parklands.
According to the City of Cape Town, the councillor started feeling ill behind the wheel along the N1 highway and just made it into the emergency lane before passing out.
