San Diego Shooting

Three men, including a security guard, were shot at the Islamic Center of San Diego

Three people were killed on Monday after two shooters opened fire outside the Islamic Center of San Diego. Two suspects, both teenagers, were later found dead nearby.

According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the shooting is being investigated as a hate crime, and the FBI is involved in the investigation. “Because of the Islamic Center location, we are considering this a hate crime until it’s not,” San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said.

The report of an active shooter at the center came in around 11:40 a.m. Officers arrived to find three people dead at the front, one of whom was a security guard, and soon after, found two suspects dead in a vehicle blocks away. The suspects, aged 17 and 19, appeared to have died from self-inflicted gunshots, according to police.
