OpenAI and Dell Technologies are collaborating to help enterprises deploy Codex in the hybrid and on-premises environments where their data, systems, and workflows already operate.

The partnership will connect Codex with the Dell AI Data Platform, allowing businesses to bring OpenAI’s coding and agentic AI tool closer to internal codebases, documentation, operational knowledge, and business systems.

OpenAI said Codex is now used by more than 4 million developers each week and is being adopted across code review, test coverage, incident response, and large repository analysis.

The companies will also explore ways for Codex, ChatGPT Enterprise, and other API-based solutions to work with Dell AI Factory, Dell’s infrastructure platform for running enterprise AI workloads. The integration could support tasks such as preparing data, managing systems of record, running tests, and deploying AI applications inside Dell based hybrid or on-premises infrastructure.

Dell said the collaboration is designed to give enterprises a more secure path to deploying AI agents at scale by allowing them to operate closer to company data.
