Reuters, citing an informed source, reported that Pakistan transmitted the Islamic Republic’s “modified” proposal aimed at reducing tensions and ending the war with the United States to Washington last night. According to the report, Islamabad has taken on the role of mediator between Tehran and Washington in recent weeks, working to keep negotiations alive and reduce tensions between the two sides.

Reuters noted that the Islamic Republic’s updated proposal includes a framework for ending hostilities, continuing talks, and reviewing some of Tehran’s demands, although the exact details of the proposal have not yet been made public.

The report comes as U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly said in recent days that he was waiting to receive a fresh and “updated” version of Iran’s proposal, while also using social media to threaten the Islamic Republic and its armed forces with the possibility of renewed war.

Reuters further reported that several regional countries, including Pakistan and Qatar, have been actively trying in recent weeks to maintain communication channels between Tehran and Washington in an effort to prevent the conflict from expanding.
