The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has issued a warning to the Federal Government over what it described as a growing wave of violence, intimidation, harassment, and brutal assaults against doctors and other healthcare workers across hospitals in Nigeria.

In a statement titled “Reading the Riot Act: Enough is Enough on Assaults Against Doctors and Other Health Workers,” the association expressed outrage over the persistent attacks on medical personnel nationwide, warning that it may no longer guarantee industrial peace if urgent action is not taken before the end of its May 2026 Ordinary General Meeting (OGM).

The statement was jointly signed by NARD President, Dr. Mohammad Usman Suleiman; Secretary-General, Dr. Shuaibu Ibrahim; and Publicity and Social Secretary, Dr. Abdulmajid Yahya Ibrahim.
