MANILA, Philippines— Four members of the new minority bloc in the Senate have been stripped of committee chairmanships, a week after voting against Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano.
Sen. Risa Hontiveros was removed as head of the Senate committee on health and replaced by Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go while Sen. Bam Aquino was replaced by Sen. Loren Legarda as chairman of the basic education panel.
Sen. Raffy Tulfo was replaced as chairman of the Senate committee on public services, which will now be headed by Sen. Rodante Marcoleta while his brother, Erwin, lost his chairmanship of the committee on games and amusement to Sen. Jinggoy Estrada.
