MANILA, Philippines – More than 32,000 new teaching positions have been approved nationwide for School Year 2026–2027, in a major government push to ease overcrowded classrooms and reduce the workload of educators, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Monday.In a statement, the DepEd said the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) approved 32,916 new teaching positions for School Year 2026–2027 for all learning levels, including Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior High School, Senior High School, and the Alternative Learning System (ALS).

“This is a critical step in giving our schools the structural support they need to deliver quality education,” said Education Secretary Sonny Angara.
