Two brothers, one brave fight: James and William’s journey with Duchenne inspires community support

When Jacqui Chapman and her husband George were told that both their young sons had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), their world changed forever.

"James and William were first diagnosed in 2015 when they were two-and-a-half years old," she told IOL.

She said the pain of that moment is still palpable. "I as well as my husband were devastated as we had never heard of DMD."

The rare and progressive muscle-wasting disease has slowly stripped James and William of their independence.
