The Democratic Republic of Congo is no stranger to Ebola, but its latest outbreak has now been declared a global health emergency.

The highly contagious virus has already caused 80 suspected deaths, with eight confirmed cases and another 246 suspected.

The epicentre is in eastern Ituri province, but two cases have also been confirmed in Uganda.

And the World Health Organisation warns that clusters of deaths across Ituri point to a potentially much larger outbreak than what’s been reported so far.
