Eyewitnesses told the newspaper that the victim was allegedly hit by a bullet fired by soldiers who were attempting to disperse protesting youths at the venue.
A resident, Ibrahim Sale, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, said tension started building after party members became frustrated over the absence of electoral officials earlier scheduled to conduct the exercise on Saturday.
