Officers of the Customs Air Intelligence Unit seized around 5 kg of hydroponic weed - a narcotic substance - from the baggage of an international passenger at the Tiruchi international airport in the late hours on Friday. The value of the seized substance was put at ₹5 crores.Acting on intelligence, the Customs Air Intelligence Unit officers intercepted the passenger who arrived at the Tiruchi airport from Kuala Lumpur by a Batir Air flight. The officers searched the baggage inside which around 5 kg of hydroponic weed was found. The passenger was subsequently arrested and investigation is under way, said airport sources.
