The Air Customs and Air Intelligence Unit at the Coimbatore International Airport on Monday night intercepted two passengers who arrived from Singapore by Scoot flight, and seized hydroponic weed weighing 6.713 kg valued at ₹ 7 crore.

A case was registered against the two passengers, Fahad Mon Mujeeb and Suhail Vazhamattathil Ubaidulla, both from Kottayam district in Kerala under various sections of the Customs Act, 1962 read with NDPS Act, 1985. The two were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.

The officials also intercepted two other passengers, Tamilarasi Jayamanickam and Pandi Durai Subbaiah from Pudukottai, who came in the same flight and seized drones valued at ₹18.67 lakh.
