Documents from the screening exercise showed that Ajimobi Wasiu Adegboyega, who contested for the Oyo North Senatorial ticket, was not cleared by the party’s screening panel.

The screening process for the senatorial primaries of Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has thrown up major casualties, with several aspirants, including the younger brother of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi and son of businessman Chief Kola Daisi, failing to secure clearance from the party.

Documents from the screening exercise showed that Ajimobi Wasiu Adegboyega, who contested for the Oyo North Senatorial ticket, was not cleared by the party’s screening panel.

Also disqualified was Mr Kolapoboye Kola-Daisi, who is Ajimobi’s son-in-law and aspirant for the Oyo South Senatorial District ticket.

Other aspirants declared “not cleared” by the panel are Ademola Wasiu Alli (Oyo Central), Hussaini Yusuf (Oyo North), Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen (Oyo Central), Hon. Hameed Afeez Repete (Oyo Central), and Ambassador Pastor Akinremi Alade Bolaji (Oyo South).
