The consignment, hidden inside fresh white cassava granules, was discovered on Tuesday, 12 May, during a patrol operation.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says its operatives have intercepted 1,989 rounds of RLA 7.62mm military-grade ammunition concealed in bags of garri along the Abuja–Kaduna highway in Kaduna State.
The consignment, hidden inside fresh white cassava granules, was discovered on Tuesday, 12 May, during a patrol operation.
A 35-year-old suspect, Abdullahi Hassan, was arrested in connection with the shipment.
Femi Babafemi, Director, Media & Advocacy NDLEA in a statement on Sunday said both the suspect and the exhibit have been handed over to another security agency for further investigation.
